What each line means

Base

The car and the mileage. This is the number a broker leads with.

Liability

Third-party liability, required by law. It covers other people, not your rental car. Where it is bundled, the table says so.

Taxes and fees

Value-added tax and airport fees. Some companies fold them into the base.

Deposit

A hold on your credit card, not a charge. It depends on the cover you take.
